Tactical Glossary
DCP — Detainee Collection Point
Platoon-level collection point where EPWs are initially held after capture.
EPW — Enemy Prisoner of War
Doctrinal term for captured enemy personnel under detention.
SHU — Special Housing Unit
Separate section within a DCP for high-value targets or uncooperative EPWs, physically segregated from general holding.
ECP — Entry Control Point
The controlled entrance to a DCP that regulates inflow and outflow of personnel and vehicles.
Sally Port
A controlled entry/exit with two sequential barriers; only one open at a time, preventing unauthorized passage during ingress/egress.
DHA — Detainee Holding Area
Higher-echelon EPW collection point to which EPWs from the DCP are transferred for further processing and internment.
C-wire — Concertina Wire
Coiled barbed wire used to establish security perimeters and obstacle belts.
